I forgot how incredibly dusty India is. It's like with having over a billion inhabitants in the country, the cities here also generate a proportionally higher density of swirling dirt particles in the air, kicked up by autorickshaws, scooters, cars, camels (saw 2 of these yesterday plodding through the road and they're surprisingly HUGE in real life), etc. With the tendency to also immediately start sweating in the 90% humidity outside, this means that basically have resigned myself to be a little bit grimy all the time. Like, blow-your-nose-and-it's-black grimy. Dirt everywhere -- in the crevices in your eye where normally you just get crusty in the morning, in between your toes whether or not you're wearing closed toe shoes, you name it.
The roads are paved -- more than in Zambia at least. And honestly other than 1 Central Park-esque part in the middle of the city, I haven't really seen a shred of nature for the last week. Where does all this dirt come from??
