quiche lorraine
crepe with mushroom and cheese
macaroons
croq madame
frites
lots of baguette with cheese + tomato + good olive oil + salt
foie gras (loooove it. Know it's bad for animals.)
rillette (spreadable pork. Gross and apparently very French. Have to scrape off a candle-wax appearing 1-inch later of fat on the top of the container which looks like cream cheese.)
cheeses: chevre, coulommiers, tomme noir, comte
food comments: The mustard here is mad good. It's like French kimchi, or wasabi, and it's delicious on frites. Not a new thought, but mayo also on frites is, yes, gross, but also extremely tasty. And even the gross, stale macaroons (according to Helena, my pistachio macaroon was an affront to good French macaroons at la Duree) are still pretty good. Also "limonade" is Sprite, and although a citron presse (fresh squeezed lemonade) might sound awesome, it's instead a half glass of pure lemon juice that will kick your ass unless you dilute it with an entire carafe of water and 5 packets of sugar. Too bad.
Paris is obvs gorgeous. A pic on the way home from drinks last night:
