Went to this afternoon get-together today with Marie. Turned out to be a Mary Kay makeup-selling party-- surprising, and odd. Didn't buy any makeup, but did eat some really good guacamole and checked out some speakers (it was hosted at Gizmos, this hip electronics store downtown reminiscent of the Adidas store in Harvard Square) while chatting up some other folks there who were also not so into the makeup. It's pretty cool-- Everyone here is doing something that sounds pretty amazing at the national hospital, with the CDC, CARE, UNIAIDS, USAID, or some other embassy or acronym. Nice to know, when shmoozing (An aside: can't believe I've entered a world where everyone exchanges business cards at every opportunity. It seems so... square.) with these seasoned expats, that the Clinton Foundation is a blip (albeit small) on the map :)
